Airline Job News
- September -
On behalf of AirlineJOB.net, I would like to begin our September newsletter with my heartfelt best wishes to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I am astounded by the images I have seen in the news as I'm sure all our readers have been.
I would also like to wish everyone a happy Labour Day weekend. Enjoy your break - for those of you that are having one!
For those of you seeking a new airline job, it has been a great summer for growth in the airline industry: airline jobs are up, and the aircraft industry is undergoing a colossal boom with orders for Boeing and Airbus aircraft up dramatically. These are great signs for airline job seekers, as we detail in this month's newsletter.
Best regards,
Linda Peterson, AirlineJOB.net News Writer

Maria - My life as a Flight Attendant "What can I say? I love my job! I have been in the industry for 12 years now and I have been to more countries than anyone in my family.
I met my husband on one of our regular flights within the US. It was really like something out of a movie. Ted used to fly from Fort Worth to Atlanta on a regular basis. He was a familiar (cute) face! We are now settled in Texas with our two kids, so now I choose to work only about 40 hours a month.
Getting Started - "When I started in the industry, I think what helped me in the interview process was the fact that I had one year of college taking mainly psychology courses; and I had also been waitressing for two years. It also helped that I had a good understanding and ability to communicate in Spanish, although I was not, and I am still not fluent in the language".
What is the job really like? - "Well, I am very much a people person, and because of that I think I really enjoy my job. I like making people fell comfortable and relaxed and I enjoy being busy - and if you are doing short haul flights - your are busy! continue reading...
